Improving Response

Jurisdiction: South Australia

Best entry that assists CFS planning for and responding to incidents.

South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) volunteers respond to a variety of incidents including bushfires, structure fires, road crash rescues, and hazardous material spills. Open data can play an invaluable role assisting CFS to effectively plan for and respond to these incidents.

How can we best collate, display and share the information that is in a CFS operational management plan to aid volunteers responding to incidents? The information could include:

Maps of roads and best routes
Fuel stations
Accommodation
Catering - food and drink suppliers
Location of other emergency services and police
Medical facilities
Aged care
Schools
Water sources
Airports and landing sites
Transport services
Locations at high risk of bushfire impact

Entry: Challenge entry is only available to teams in South Australia.
