Bounty: Tax Help Centers

Jurisdiction: Australia

Looking at how the ATO could use artificial intelligence or machine learning to locate the best locations for Tax Help Centers

The ATO runs a Tax Help program for eligible individuals in need of assistance. Tax Help is a network of ATO-trained and accredited community volunteers who provide a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns online using myTax. Datasets containing Tax Help centre locations by postcode, plus information about the demographic profile of each centre are provided. A link has also been provided outlining the eligibility criteria for Tax Help. Find a way to verify if the ATO has optimised the location of Tax Help centres to benefit the intended clients. Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning approaches to your response are desirable – if you can demonstrate they add value over non-AI/ML approaches!
++ The ATO dataset already includes a sample of ATO taxation variables from the tax return data and a sample of ABS census variables , for every postcode in Australia for 2006, 2011, and 2016.

Entry: Challenge entry is available to all teams in Australia.
