Parking in Darwin city is a hot topic! How do we find the balance between providing parking for workers, visitors and city residents? How can smart data help with parking, or encouraging other, greener modes of transport and access into the city?
Parking in Darwin city is a hot topic! How do we find the balance between providing parking for workers, visitors and city residents? How much parking is enough? Can we ever have too much parking? And do we have enough? Should we pay for parking? Do we even need parking in a smart, connected city? Are we just committing to old modes of transport and is there a better way to improve the mobility and accessibility of our city for all people?
City of Darwin is seeking innovative solutions to make visiting and parking in the CBD a breeze. This might be achieved through the development of smart systems (e.g. mobile app, street signage), by incentivising green transport modes (e.g. improved cycling routes or ride sharing) or by analysing datasets to discover pedestrian or traffic patterns.
